A Little Catch Up

I have a lot to catch up on! I have been chasing around a VERY energetic 2 year old lately! I think she has been charged up by the energizer bunny, because she is constantly going going! With all that energy comes a lot of energetic tantrums and tearful mommies. There has been so much going on! I have found it hard to find time or energy to write them down! These things should be in order of the last two months...

I found Taelee like this after her nap, sitting on her pillow with a lot of her books reading to all of her friends. This is now something she does without taking a nap...I don't think I am ready for her not to have a nap, but all she wants to do is play! Her new favorite is getting dressed up in her dress up clothes instead of sleeping! Oh the joys of toddlerhood! I have to keep looking at the quote I have on my wall...
"Come What May and Love it!"
Taelee was doing really well with using the potty, but for a while she regressed on her number 2s. She would wake up with a mess during her naps (when she would take one!) and it was driving me a bit nuts! I was really frustrated because it was so much work, and then to have to start all over was a bit much for me! I decided to make her a Poop Chart. We went to the store and picked out a Princess doll and some stickers. She chose Cinderella. We put her on the shelf in the bathroom, and she had to wait to get her until she filled up her chart with stickers. She did so good with this! She was beside herself when she filled it up...she was so proud, and so was I!
Stephen's work threw us a baby shower. We were so grateful because we are still lacking on so many things for the baby! Taelee had a lot of fun, and even got her own big sister present!
My parents surprised us on Memorial weekend! They drove down and showed up on our doorstep early Friday morning. It was fun being on the other side of a surprise trip for once! We had a lot of fun with them here...they spoiled us rotten!
My dad helped Stephen put up fans in the kids rooms and in our bedroom...
a much need fix for a hot pregnant lady!
The main reason they drove down was to bring us this beautiful changing table for babies room! I LOVE it! I didn't have anything like this for Taelee so I am really excited to have all this storage. I am especially excited because I can keep the diapers up high so Taelee can't get to them and put them on all of her babies and friends!
My mom helped me plant some flower in our front yard, and trim up our bushes. We have been wanting to do this for a long time, and I was really glad that my mom was able to help me! We planted a beautiful topiary in a pot by our door...it looks really good!
I love the flowers around our tree, it makes our yard look sooo... much better!
and Taelee played in the water while we all slaved away in the heat!

What Have We Been Up To?

My mom was in town for 2 weeks, and boy did we get a lot done! We got the bassinet up and ready, we switched the crib over to the babies room, got Taelee another toddler bed, we painted babies room and got it all ready, and my mom helped me sew a TON!!! I am so grateful she was able to come and help me with so much! I know I wouldn't have been able to do it without her!
We made Taelee a little comforter to go with her new toddler bed. I have been wanting to get something since she's been out of her crib, but never got around to it. I am sooo...happy with the way that it turned out! Taelee is in LOVE with it, and calls it her Jasmin bed!
Taelee really enjoyed helping us paint the babies room! We gave her a paintbrush and a cup with water, and she thought she was really special being able to help!
I LOVE how his room turned out!

Our Labor Day

...for that's what it truly was, a day of Labor.
Our builder left us a ton of bricks, so we thought we would put them to good use. We edged along the shrubs and tree in our front yard. It was really hot, but it was well worth it. We are really happy with how it turned out.
Taelee of course had fun dumping dirt in the bucket just like Daddy.

BEFORE:

Grass was starting to grow into the dirt.

What a cute little helper!

AFTER:

We think that it added a lot of curb appeal, and best of all it was FREE!

We had a bunch of rain last night and today, and ALL of the bark stayed where it should!

Lets Play Catchup

It's not like me to miss so many weeks, but it has been a very busy move. We left for Texas on July 18th after my friend's sealing. (Congratulations Ashlee!)

We made it to Texas on July 19th. It was a very quick drive, quick meaning 19 hours, but it went by really fast. We left at 4 pm on Saturday and arrived in Texas at 12 pm Sunday. Taelee did really well on the drive. She only slept about 3 hours, but we only had one major meltdown!

We stopped by our new house once we got to Texas. Taelee loved it the minute she walked in the door. She ran around opening all the cupboards and rolling on the carpet.

We didn't close on our house until July 30th so we were homeless for a little over a week. It worked out really well though because Steve's sister was out of town so we were able to stay at her house while we waited. It was really nice having Stephen home for a week before he started all of his meetings.
We went swimming a couple times with Taelee's cousins, she is becoming quite the water girl.

Taelee had her first hair cut. She did really well, she just sat there. It wasn't a major cut, but her bangs were fixed.

We closed on our house July 30th. It went extremely well, and took a lot less time than I thought. I feel so blessed to have this home; I am so thankful for everyone that has helped us get here! We couldn't have done any of this without help!
My parents arrived with the truck late on the 31st , which gave us time to paint our bedroom and bathroom and Taelee's bedroom and bathroom. Hats come off to my Dad for packing the truck, there wasn't an ounce of unused space.

Taelee loved "driving" the truck!

We had a lot of help getting the truck unloaded, which was a good thing because we had a nice Texas rain while we were unloading. Nothing like the smell of wet boxes in your new house! All in all the move went great! We have unloaded most of our boxes, but have a little more to go. Pictures will come soon!

We had a few projects, but we didn't have to do a lot since it was a new construction. We put hardware on our cabinets, and we put in a garage door opener.
Taelee was quite the little helper. If only we could all work like this!

Taelee has been having lots of fun in her new house. She has been a little more grumpy, but hopefully that will pass once we have settled a little more! She has really enjoyed seeing her toys again, but I think she is having the best time with all the space to run.

She is very into head stands and has almost mastered the somersault.

This is where she leans, quite the pose!

She has also been having a lot of fun coloring, and she is getting very good!

We love our house and hope to have many visitors! Thanks again to eveyone who helped!

Project #1

Since we are buying our first house there are a lot of things on my TO DO LIST. We are almost tripling the amount of space as our last apartment...which means a whole lot of space to fill, and not a lot of money to do it with. We are planning on filling it up a little at a time, I started with this great find! I went to a second hand store and found these lovely beauties for $6.99!!!! They are very sturdy and were in really good condition (except for the nasty cushion). With a little sanding, staining, a new thick cushion, and fabric the chairs are like new! I was really happy with the result and they are going to look great with my existing chairs!
