Kingston's First Missing Tooth

Kingston took awhile to lose his first tooth. When we were at his first grade fall festival he bumped it and finally made it super wiggly, so wiggly in fact that he could have pulled it out right then. However, he was absolutely terrified to pull it out. He wouldn't let anyone come close to it. He let it literally hang on by a hair for over 2 weeks. We kept telling him that we thought he was going to swallow it in his sleep. He could push it all the way forward at a 90 degree angle and it was still just hanging on for dear life. It wasn't until he finally pulled that thing out that we saw why. It was the LONGEST tooth I have ever seen! I didn't know they could be that long. He was so excited and shocked when he pulled it out. It was seriously the funniest thing when he realized it was out, "I pulled it out! It didn't even hurt! I lost my tooth, yah yah yah!!"

First Day of School - 3rd and 1st

Before moving to Utah I applied to multiple charter schools in Utah. Not knowing exactly where we were going to end up living we thought some consistency in the school would be a good idea. The kids got into Summit Academy in both Bluffdale and Independence. We decided to go with Bluffdale because it put us a little closer from my parents. We are so grateful for inspiration, because this decision worked out in so many ways.
Taelee started 3rd grade with Mrs Ruff and Kingston started 1st grade with Ms. Buongiorno. Taelee is so excited about the uniforms. The kids had a great first day, and we are looking forward to a great year.

Eden has really missed her buddies during the first week of school. She gets so excited when we go pick them up. She is so happy to have her playmates back at the end of the school day.

First day of School 2015 - 2016 Kinder & 2nd

We are so excited to have Taelee in Ms. Tutor's class for Second Grade, and Kingston in Mrs. Stone's Class for Kindergarten. They were really excited to go and meet their teachers at meet the teacher night.
Our beautiful Taelee on the first day of Second Grade. No nerves at all, just pure excitement, and she felt pretty special she got to be the big help to her brother.
Our handsome boy on his first day of Kindergarten. He was a tad nervous, but the fact that he had already been in Mrs. Stone's classroom so much when Taelee was in Kindergarten made him a lot more at ease.

Taelee: First Grade

The Friday before Taelee started school I took her out on a date. She was so excited to spend an evening celebrating her! We went to then school and took some first grade pictures. Lucky for us Mrs. Hill was at the school when we got there and she let us sneak in the school and check out Taelee's classroom and get a few pictures inside. After pictures we went to PeiWei for dinner, then we went to the mall to get our nails done and ride the carousel, and of course a date night wouldn't be complete without some frozen yogurt!
I can't believe that Taelee started first grade! She is so bright and an amazing reader! She loves to read Rainbow Magic Fairy books. She loves school, and we are so proud of our beautiful girl!!
Here she is on her first day of first grade August 25, 2014!!

Taelee's First Lost Tooth

Sunday, January 19, 2014 marked a very special day! Taelee had been working really hard on wiggling her loose tooth for months! I was surprised it hadn't fallen out sooner. Sunday morning before church she was talking to Nana and Gonka on FaceTime and with some encouraging words from Gonka she was convinced that she was going to pull it out with them watching. Sure enough she pressed on her lip to push it in, and when she went to wiggle it some more it was gone! It had popped out just like that! Since she was in the fortress we had made the day before it took us a minute to find it in the dark, but sure enough it was lying on the ground! She was so excited! It was so special that she got to share that moment with Nana and Gonka! She couldn't wait until nighttime when she would get to put her tooth under her pillow! She woke up bright and early that morning (5:15) to make sure the tooth fairy had come! Her tooth fairy's name is Tilly. Taelee thought her name was so cute and similar to my first grade teacher, Mrs. Tilby. She left her a special note and tooth receipt along with a one dollar bill! Taelee was beaming with excitement and couldn't wait to mark her tooth off on the chart at school!
We loved how her tooth fairy pillow turned out!

Her miniature receipt and note covered in pixie dust!
*Since loosing her first tooth, she lost her second bottom tooth exactly two weeks later on another Sunday morning; February 2, 2014.

Taelee's First Day of Kindergarten

August 26, 2013 was a very special day! We sent our baby off for her first day of school! Taelee was soooo excited to start Kindergarten, and that excitement only escalated after meeting her teacher. I remember having to sit with her when she first started Nursery because she would cry and cry when we left her. It took months to finally get her comfortable! Now look at her?! She didn't have a nervous bone in her body...all smiles and pure joy! I was so happy for her and excited to see this little beauty blossom and grow, but it was pretty rough walking out those doors without her! I couldn't even hold it together long enough to leave the classroom. Miss Turnipseed saw me and told me to feel free to email for updates throughout the day. She is such a sweet teacher and a perfect match for Taelee! I am blessed with an amazing support group of friends and family! I got texts and calls all day checking how I was doing! It meant so much, and both Taelee and I felt very loved! The morning was hard. I couldn't walk past her room without crying so I decided to take Kingston to the Library. It was a good distraction and after that I felt much better.
We walked over to get her after school and I was so excited to hear about her first day. I stood and waited, for what seemed like forever, to see my beaming beauty walk out the doors. I loved getting to talk to her about all the details of her day. I played 100 questions with her and she divulged on all the details. She met some new friends and is already the little class helper. She let me know that she shared her play dough with someone who didn't have any and it made her feel good. Sending her to school was a guided and inspired decision, and I can see why. She is going to thrive at school. We are so proud of her and grateful she is part of our family!
We walked to school with friends Braelyn and Reagan. She was excited to have that time with them. Their excitement was contagious!
She walked through those doors and it was official!
Miss Turnipseed and Taelee...a match made in heaven!

Dot Dot Dot Earrins!!!

My baby girl got earrings on Saturday! The title might be confusing. But as Taelee was getting ready to get her earrings I was reminded of a video I posted two and a half years ago. Taelee was playing with my earrings saying, "dot dot dot earrins!!!" so cute check it out here! I told her about it and she couldn't stop saying that all day, "dot dot dot earrins!"
Taelee has been wanting earrings for a very long time. She started wanting them because she loves Jasmine, and wanted to have gold ones just like her. I talked to her a lot about the process of earrings. That it would hurt to get them, that she would have to take care of them, and ultimately be a "big girl". I told her that in order to get them we were going to do a sticker chart. She had to behave in a "big girl" way-be kind, respectful, helpful, and good listener, and do what we asked her the first time. She always does really well with sticker charts and it really motivates her to do her best. When she got that last sticker she couldn't have been more excited! She kept saying, "this is a very special day!" and it truly was! She could hardly contain her excitement! She was definitely ready for those earrings and oh so brave!
Pre Earrings, and oh so excited!
She was very curious about what the girl was doing. I could tell that she was a little nervous, but she was set on being brave and a "big girl". The girl piercing her ears did such a good job! She was so sweet and made Taelee feel so comfortable and even more excited. Every once in a while she couldn't hold back her excitement and would just let out a giddy laugh and giggle!
The only time she showed the slightest bit of regret was when they came over with the guns. She scrunched up her shoulders to cover her ears. That only lasted a second and then she was ready...She didn't cry a second! She was so brave! After they pierced them she pulled this face and looked so bravely worried. She said, "they hurt really really bad" without shedding a single tear. She was was so happy to have those earrings, but even more than that I think she was more proud of what a good job she did!
One proud girl!
