Happy Easter

I always feel a sense of refreshment this time of year because we see a beautiful change in weather, we get to listen to our Prophet and Apostles, and we get to remember the Resurrection and Atonement of Jesus Christ. I love Easter, and it was a lot of fun this year. Taelee actually knew that something special was going on. When she found her basket in the morning she got really excited and made the cutest face, like is this really for me?!
After church we went up to my parents house to have a little Easter egg hunt and dinner. Taelee did pretty well finding the eggs and putting them in her basket. It was fun seeing her get excited and actually walk around with the other kids.

We finally got a family picture with Taelee smiling (sort of)

A long needed picture of the two of us!

We set off for the hunt, Taelee took her time...

...she stopped and smelled the flowers a few times

Ended with her favorites...balloons, books, and being outside.

Like Mother Like Daughter

Taelee loves to play with my jewelry, my bracelets in particular. She usually puts on one or two, but today she put on every one of my bangles. It was really funny watching her try and get them all on her wrist, she got pretty good at it!

Of course she had to sort them out and make piles throughout the house!

Soon after putting them all on her wrists she realized she could also put them on her legs. She got all of them on both legs at one point! She was grinning from ear to ear, thinking she was one smart cookie! You can see the smarty pant grin in the last picture. I was so glad that it was before bath time so she had naked legs, making it a million times cuter!

Outsmarting a 1 year old...

...it should be easy right?
WRONG
Taelee found out how to open the doors awhile back, but has now figured out what happens when she opens them...she gets into places she knows she isn't supposed to be! AKA the bathroom and her closet full of books. Call me lazy, but getting her out of the cupboards in the bathroom over and over got really old really fast! The other day I thought I would be "smart" and lock the door to the bathroom so she couldn't get in (knowing there was a key to open it). Lets just say after a couple drinks of Diet Coke I was dying to get in there (this is our only bathroom in the house). I tried to unlock the door for a good 30 minutes. I couldn't get in!!! After a good laugh and another 10 minute attempt I got in! This event made me think that further childproofing was in order!
Taelee loves to get into her closet and pull all her books down. Today was the last time. On her 3rd tear down of the day I had to take a picture because she was actually sitting on her pile of books looking at a book! What a silly girl! The second picture was the 4th and final tear down that took place minutes after I had just put the books back. That girl is fast! Needless to say she sent me running to BabiesRus to get some baby proof latches for our doors!

After my successful trip to BabiesRus and some fine handy work; there will be no more piles of books and no more empty cupboards! Lets hope that this time Taelee will be the only one outsmarted, not her silly mother!

The Hogle Zoo

We went to the zoo with Steve's brothers' family on Saturday. They came and stayed with us for the weekend. They have a little boy the same age as Taelee. It was fun to see their reactions to the animals. Taelee's favorite things were the Monkeys, birds, and tiger.

I don't want to see her ever measure up to that gorilla. I want her to stay small forever, she is already getting way too big!

Duck Pond

After the zoo we took them to the duck pond at BYU. I am pretty sure they liked that even more than the zoo, and it was free! I am glad they had a good time playing.

Future soccer player???
Stephen seems to think so!

These pictures were too cute!!

Old McDonald had a Farm

...and on his farm he had goats, lambs, ducks, horses, a donkey, and much much more
We took Taelee to the farm at Thanksgiving point a year ago when she was four months old, but she couldn't really enjoy it. We took her again on Saturday and she loved it this time! She pointed at everything the whole time. Every animal we would come up to she would make their noise. They have corn that you can feed the animals and she loved when Stephen would feed them. The video shows that she enjoyed it...num num!

The flowers are starting to bloom there and Taelee was going crazy over them. She couldn't smell them enough!!!

This was Taelee a year ago when we took her...it is scary how much she has changed!

***I'm sorry for all the pictures, I just couldn't pick one! I hope you enjoy them!
