We carved our pumpkins for family home evening last night. We did things a little different this year and actually bought the pumpkin carving tools...they worked a lot better than a kitchen knife and spoon! We were going to do the fun designs that the kit came with, but decided we weren't that good nor did we have the time. We stuck with the good old jack o' lantern faces!
Taelee giving her pumpkin a hug...
Kingston and his pumpkin. He sat in his bouncer while we cleaned out the gunk from the pumpkins. He was ready for a nap by the time we started carving...not that he knew any different!
Stephen did a great job getting all the gunk out.
Taelee kept asking us if the insides of her pumpkin were called gunk or goop. We told her it could be both, she could choose what she wanted to call it...she chose gunk. Either way, she DID NOT want to touch it. She didn't want to last year either, she doesn't like to have dirty hands...I guess that is a good thing. She scooped the seeds out one at a time with her Mickey Mouse ice cream scoop. Needless to say, Stephen did the rest, or else we would have been there all night!
Proud of her Jack o' Lantern...she called her Sammie (letting us know that Sammie could also be a girl)
Our family of pumpkins! I thought my pumpkin depicted me perfectly...the CRAZY mamma pumpkin!
She was so excited to put them outside...if only we had candles!
