Thanksgiving 2012

This year we were able to go to Utah for Thanksgiving. We drove and made record time getting there a quick 18:20! The kids always have such a hard time sleeping in the car, but they did great! I put up a list of major cities on Taelee's window and she moved a car along as we passed through. It helped her understand where we were and keep her in the loop as we were driving. We were grateful that it had snowed the week before so we didn't have to worry about driving in it! The weather was great while we were there, we sure miss the cold!

One of the first places we went was Gardener's Village and saw all sorts of elves.
This poor duck had a broken leg so he couldn't escape the kids. They were in heaven though!
One of the best things we did was when we went on a hike by my brother and sister's house. It was a bitter cold windy day, but once we got onto the trail the winds got softer and the hike kept us warm. They scenery was BEAUTIFUL! Taelee was in seventh heaven on an adventure with her sweet little JoJo. They collected treasures all along the way, and searched for dinosaur bones. We sure miss the mountains!!!
The highlight of the hike was this picture! I am in love! It turned out awesome!
Taelee wanted to camouflage herself!!!
 BEAUTIFUL sight from the top!
Here we are at the top of the trail.
The sunset from up there was absolutely stunning! The sky changed every time we looked up!
Durning the hike you could see the tip of the Draper Temple. What a beautiful place to be!
Thanksgiving morning Stephen and Taelee had a race in American Fork. Stephen did awesome, even with the altitude change. He won us a turkey!!

Taelee ran a 100 yard dash and did great! She was so proud to when she got her metal! It is so fun watching her run! She gets so excited and always says "I'm going to do my best!"
Proud Gonka!
Nana stayed home with Kingston who was acting a little sick. Taelee was so excited to call her and tell her about her metal.
After the run Gonka took Kingston out and showed him some fish from the pond. He LOVED it!
Stephen's brother and his family came down from Wyoming to have Thanksgiving dinner with us. We hadn't seen them in over two years so it was great to see them again. Taelee loved spending time with her cousin Diesel! She sure loves her cousins!!! I was happy that the kids could see my grandma too!
 GOBBLE GOBBLE!
The kids were stuck on playing solve the mystery. Taelee came to save the day!
Throughout the month we called the family and asked what they were thankful for. We brought the jar with us and read them around the table. I have been blessed in so many ways! Writing something down each day made me think outside the box and really focus on things that aren't the typical answers.
The next day the girls had a special fairy tea party.
The girls were overjoyed! A memory for Taelee that she will never forget!
After the tea party we road the train downtown to City Creek and Temple Square.
It was freezing, but well worth it! We were so glad that we got to see them turn on the lights!
It was beautiful!
It was a great trip! Taelee was sure sad to leave her Nana and Gonka! They are so close! It rips my heart out every time we have to say goodbye! However, we are grateful for each visit because they become special and cherished memories!
