4th of July in Illinois

We had a great 4th of July in Illinois. We went to a fun parade in Libertyville in the morning. We had a beautifully cool first couple of days, but the 4th was pretty toasty as we stood and watched the parade. Kingston was exhausted and little grumpy, but Taelee had a great time collecting candy. I was very disappointed with one of the groups. It was a pro medical marijuana group. They had people dressed up as hippies, people pushing around pots with marijuana on lawn mowers and carts, people wafting incense, golf carts adorned with marijuana leaves, and people handing out fake prescriptions for marijuana. Steve's brother Phil was Vrska-like and booed them. I was appalled by this group and was grateful Taelee was oblivious as they walked by. It just goes to show you what type of world we are living in!
We were right across the street from the fire department so before the parade started the kids got to go get a fire hat and sit in the firetrucks. I thought Kingston would be more excited about it, but he was just plain grumpy and didn't even want the hat.

Our little grumpus begging for Stephen to hold him!
Stephen got a kick out of this one for men's rights. They handed out some awesome mustaches that all the boys quickly put on. Haha! Phil and Tyler looked like Colonel Sanders, Michael - a pedafile, Diesel just looked cute, Stephen - Hulk Hulgan, and Mike - Hitler.
After the parade we went to Mike and Robin's ward lunch. The kids had a lot of fun running around playing yard games and enjoying their first ever Klondike bar!
After lunch we came home and had some much needed R&R. Once it got dark we watched fireworks at a high school down the road from their house.
