We took a long needed ten day trip to Utah mid May. It was so nice to be around my family for a few days! Taelee and Kingston were so happy to be with their Nana, Gonka, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. The kids acted as though they were never apart!
Hope of America at BYU
The day we got their we took the traffic trek to BYU to watch my niece sing in "Hope of America", a large patriotic production put on by dozens of 5th grade classes in Utah. It was quite amazing! My favorite event of the evening was watching a 90 year old women do the splits and then run around the stage! Taelee was sitting next to my sister and played 20+ questions all night..."why are they doing that? what are they doing? who is that?..." She also had a great time belting out the state song while they were singing a completely different song, such entertainment from that little one! What do you get when you combine a little too much candy, running around, and sleep deprivation? A child throwing up in the back seat on the way home! It was only her third or fourth time of throwing up ever and definitely the first time in the car!
The light show at the end was spectacular!
Kingston instantly found the bond with his Gonka again! He became his little buddy the whole trip!
Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point
The next day we went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving point with my sister and her kids. It was a really great place, with lots of things to see, very hands on! Before we got into the actual dinosaur part they had a great science section-gravity, physics, and such.

Kingston was in dino heaven! Taelee expecially loved that they had a bunch of ocean dinosaurs and fossils.
Their favorite part was the water play zone filled with sand, water, and dinosaurs. Kingston made it interesting by throwing sand at a poor lady...

Taelee pretending she was scared to be in the dinosaur cave.
Pretending to be dinosaurs.
City Creek and Temple Square
Next up was the oh so beautiful Temple Square!!! It was the most beautiful day! My sister in law Ashley met us there and my brother came up for lunch! We hadn't been to the new City Creek center across from Temple Square yet and it was so neat! We strolled around and looked at shops, played in the beautiful water fountains, ate at the Blue Lemon, and went to the most amazing Disney Store! Taelee and Kingston were head over heals over Josh and Ashley and we were so happy we got to spend that time with them.

Kingston was crazy about the water and didn't want to leave!

The Blue Lemon was amazing! Yummy yummy food with beautiful presentation!

These beautiful forget-me-nots of course reminded me of President Uchtdorf's wonderful talk he gave last fall..."There is something inspiring and sublime about the little forget-me-not flower. I hope it will be a symbol of the little things that make your lives joyful and sweet. Please never forget that you must be patient and compassionate with yourselves, that some sacrifices are better than others, that you need not to wait for a golden ticket to be happy. Please never forget that the "why" of the gospel of Jesus Christ will inspire and uplift you. And never forget that your Heavenly Father knows, loves, and cherishes you."
It was absolutely beautiful! Taelee was in heaven! She was convinced that her Nana planted all the flowers!

Kingston was in boy heaven! He searched for bugs, dirt, and he even uprooted a flower...becoming our very own Temple Square vandal!
They found a ladybug swimming in the water. He gets so excited over even the smallest ant. He LOVES bugs! I put it on his nose and he thought it was hilarious! He hasn't forgot about it either, if you ask him about the lady bug he'll tell you all about it!
How grateful I am for this beautiful Temple!
The kids were so excited to touch the temple!
They went up the steps and Kingston instantly sat down and folded his arms, Taelee quickly followed suit. I thought that it was so sweet that he caught on the fact that it was a very sacred place.
We had a few low key days which the kids loved so much! They loved getting to spend time with their Nana and Gonka. Gonka took the kids for a walk down to my old elementary school. They had fun running around on the united states map and playing on the playground.
Taelee got to do some flower arranging with her Nana. Taelee gets her love of flowers from her!
Taelee made lots of decorations for the house with her cousins!.
We got to celebrate Gonka's birthday too!
She had a very traumatic fall while we were there! Traumatic to her, anytime she sees blood she loses it! We went for the four band aid approach to make it better! It took a while, but eventually she survived!
Our Hike
We went up to Josh and Ash's house for dinner and a little hike. Taelee wanted to go to the mountains so bad and lucky for us Josh and Ash live on the mountain! She was so excited to go on a hike, she packed a backpack with snacks and drinks for everyone. This was definitely one of her highlights of the trip!
Clark Planetarium
Next up was a trip to the planetarium. It was a very busy day there...we picked field trip day. Taelee really loves the planets and so she really enjoyed it. They got to walk on mars and the moon! She loves the Skippyjon Jones books right now. Her favorite one is Lost in Spice where he goes to Mars so she was especially happy to be walking on mars too!

Classic Skating and Bounce Houses
Our last night in Utah we headed to good old Classic! My sister's kids school got in for free and we got to tag along. It took me back to my glory days waiting for a boy to ask me to skate during snowball...good times! The kids had a blast! Kingston road around on the scooter like this half the night, he loved it!
After scooting we went to the bounce house. Taelee and Kingston LOVED it! It wore them right out!
Oh and lucky us! Cinderella and Bell came for a visit while we were there. It made me laugh, but Talee knew that they had come from Disneyland!
We were so lucky to get to go on this trip! It was filled with lots of new memories! Leaving is always bittersweet because I don't like to leave my family so much, but I love coming home to Stephen.
