While my family was here we went to Ray Roberts Lake. It was a beautiful beach, I almost felt like we were at the ocean. I know Taelee did for sure! She was definatey in her element! She was thrilled to get to go to the beach with her "friends" from Utah. We went later in the day and packed dinner. It was the perfect time to go, it wasn't too busy or too hot. Taelee instantly took to the sand and the water, she was in heaven! Kingston on the other hand wasn't to sure about the sand in his feet. He didn't want anything to do with it. He sat in his chair watching the kids play for a while and finally ventured off one limb at a time and towards the end he was digging in the "dirt" and didn't want to leave. When we got home he had layers of crusted sand in his hair! Taelee was certain she was a mermaid! My mom layed seashells along the beach for them to find and the kids LOVED it! We put sand dollars on a rock by the shore and they were convinced that Ariel swam and put it there for them. After swimming for a while we tried to eat dinner in the crazy wind! We enjoyed some s'mores and had a special treat of strawberries dipped in sour cream and brown sugar. My mom brought lanterns like the ones from Tangled, but it was too windy to get them to light. Despite the wind and the lanterns not working it was a pretty magical time at the beach!
